What are the basic rules for sending parcels and packages from Ukraine?

In order to send a shipment or a parcel from Ukraine to Vietnam you need to make sure that your goods are not prohibited in Vietnam and can be cleared. This information can be requested from the carrier or the recipient. 

If your parcel contains prohibited goods or requires permission for export, you will not be able to send them. In addition, depending on the contents, you may be required to provide proof of origin or a technical description and purpose.

If you have not specified the goods in the accompanying documents or have specified the wrong quantity, depending on the content, you may be issued a protocol for violation of customs rules and confiscate the parcel, both in Ukraine and Vietnam.

What documents do I need to send a parcel from Ukraine to Vietnam?

The list of documents is individual and is based on the specifics of the product, the place where you ordered it, and your legal status.

• Passport information.
• TIN.
• Accreditation card of the legal person (LLC, PE, etc.).
• Contract, invoice, product specifications, packing list.
• Permit to export samples of some or other goods, if required.

To send an international parcel by an individual in Ukraine, the following documents are required:

• Passport, TIN code, or other documents confirming the identity of the recipient. For non-Ukrainian citizens only a passport.
• Checks or printouts from the site where the cost of purchase is indicated.
• Bill of lading and an invoice for the parcel – this can be obtained at the reception desk of the carrier or electronically by mail.
• Export declaration for legal entities.
• For companies with an invoice of up to 150 Euros the customs clearance on application.
• Individuals up to 10 000 Euros clearance at the request, over the customs declaration.

The customs procedures in Vietnam and the payment of the required taxes and duties depend on the type of goods and their value. If the value of the goods does not exceed 22 euros, there will be no customs duties and no electronic customs declaration is required for delivery of such goods.

For goods worth between 22 and 150 euros there will be no duty, but it will be necessary to pay value added tax. For such goods it is necessary to make an electronic declaration at customs clearance when importing into Vietnam.

In some cases, for international delivery, you may be required to provide a certificate of origin and a power of attorney to the customs agent.

An example of the calculation of delivery for parcels weighing 10 kg with dimensions of 50*20*20 cm:

Let's calculate the volume weight in cm: 50*20*20=20000/5000 = 4 kg  

If the estimated weight is less than the actual weight, the cost of delivery calculation will be by actual weight – 10 kg 

Choose service delivery: express or economy. 

Insurance is usually 1% of the cost. 

Packaging is at the expense of the sender. You can do it yourself or ask a representative of the courier service.
