Rules for sending parcels and freight to Greece

• Your goods must be approved for international shipment in Ukraine and Greece. You can find out the list of prohibited goods from our manager, the carrier, the customs office, or on the Internet.
• If your goods are banned or restricted for shipment to other countries, you will not be able to ship them, and in some cases, you may face fines and legal action.
• If your goods are included in a special register - you may be asked to provide an opinion on the origin of the goods, their technical description and purpose, as well as an expert opinion on the possibility of their exportation from the country.
• If you have not specified the goods in the accompanying documents or have specified incorrect quantity, depending on the content, you may be issued a protocol about violation of customs rules and confiscation of the parcel, both in Ukraine and in Greece.

Track parcels and freight DHL, UPS, FedEx and TNT

Once you've booked delivery of parcels or cargo from Ukraine to Greece you need to know the tracking number to track the parcel. 

By going to the site of courier service, which delivers your parcel, you can track its exact location:

What documents do I need to send a parcel from Ukraine to Greece?

The list of documents is individual and is based on the specifics of the goods, the place where you ordered it and your legal status.

• Passport data.
• TIN.
• Accreditation card of the legal entity (LLC, PE, etc.).
• Contract, invoice, product specifications, packing list.
• Permit for export of certain samples of goods, if necessary.

To send an international parcel by an individual in Ukraine, the following documents are required:

• Passport, TIN code or other documents confirming the identity of the recipient. For non-Ukrainian citizen only passport.
• Checks or printouts from the site where the cost of purchase is indicated.
• Bill of lading and an invoice for the parcel - this can be obtained at the reception desk of the carrier or electronically by mail.
• Export declaration for legal entities.
• For companies with an invoice of up to 150 Euros customs clearance on application.
• Individuals up to 10,000 euro customs clearance upon application, over €10,000 customs declaration.
• Cheque for payment of customs duties.

An example of delivery calculation for parcels weighing 10 kg with the size of 50*30*30 cm:

Do the calculation of the volumetric weight in cm: 50*30*30 = 45000/5000 = 9 kg  

If the volumetric weight is not more than the actual weight, the cost of calculating the delivery will be the actual weight of 10 kg. 

You choose the service delivery: express or economy. 

Insurance is usually 1% of the cost. 

Packaging is at the expense of the sender.

Customs duties when receiving a parcel in Greece

It is important to know that when sending a shipment from Greece and receiving it in another country, taxes, and duties may vary depending on the characteristics of the shipment and its value. In the case of international shipments, if the value of the shipment (FOB) does not exceed 22 euros, no taxes and duties are paid. If the value is between 22 and 150 euros, sales tax must be paid, but no duty is charged. If the value exceeds 150 euros, sales tax and duty are mandatory.

Customs procedures also include a customs clearance fee depending on the CIF value (cost of goods, insurance, and shipping). The commission is 15 euros for CIF up to 150 euros, 20 euros for CIF from 150 to 500 euros, 25 euros for CIF from 500 to 1000 euros, and 50 euros for CIF above 1000 euros.

Also note that in some cases international delivery may require the provision of a certificate of origin and a power of attorney to the customs agent. These documents will help to ensure that customs procedures are handled correctly.

Article 235. Prohibitions and restrictions on the transfer (sending) of certain types of goods in international postal and express consignments

Movement of the following goods shall be prohibited:

• Goods prohibited by this Code and other legislative acts of Ukraine in accordance with the importation into or exportation from the customs territory of Ukraine.
• Goods sent in violation of customs regulations.
• Goods for which there are no relevant permits in applying non-tariff regulation measures of foreign economic activity.
• Goods that, based on the results of the types of control specified in the first paragraph of Article 319 of this Code, may not be let through the customs border of Ukraine.
• Goods (clothes, shoes, etc.) that have been used and are in a dirty condition, which by their characteristics may pose a danger to postal workers, without documents on the performed fumigation.
• Goods falling under groups 1-24 of the UCG FEA are transported (sent) to citizens, except for food products with a total weight not exceeding 10 kilograms in the manufacturer's package.

Prohibited for transport:

• Live animals (including but not limited to mammals, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, insects, or birds).
• Hunting trophies (animals), animal parts such as ivory and shark fins, animal remains, or animal by-products or derivatives not intended for human consumption that are prohibited for movement by the CITES Convention or local law.
• Human remains or ashes in any form.
• Precious metals in bullion.
• Cash (current legal tender as banknotes, bills, coins), traveler's checks, and activated credit cards.
• Precious and semi-precious stones in loose form (whether processed or unprocessed).
• Complete firearms, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices, including inert explosives or test samples, air guns, replicas, or imitations of firearms or ammunition.
• Illicit goods such as illegal drugs, including but not limited to narcotic stimulants, depressants, or hallucinogens. Cannabis or its derivatives.

It is prohibited to import/export items whose transportation is prohibited by law, regulation, or statute of any state or local government of the country to which or through which the shipment may travel.
