How to pay customs duty on DHL, UPS and FedEx parcels

( 1 ) If you order goods, personal items, commercial cargo and, in general, anything from abroad, then you need to know a few rules and algorithms of delivery services and customs to ensure that your package will arrive in Ukraine on time and you will not have any problems with the customs authorities. Know these rules is extremely important, because their violation could threaten you, at a minimum, the delay of the parcel at customs, and at a maximum - fines, confiscation or sending your order back to the sender at your expense.

What do I need to know about parcels and freight delivery in Ukraine?

First of all you must understand that the courier delivery services such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, TNT and others are not responsible for your shipment after the delivery to the customs.

If the value of your parcel or shipment exceeds the duty-free limit of 150 euros, then you must go through customs clearance.

Customs clearance means submission of all required accompanying documents to customs authorities and payment of customs duty.

You can calculate the amount of duty and pay it yourself or ask the specialists of the customs brokerage company «Semero» for help.

Depending on the specifics of the goods you import, their value, and your legal status (legal or natural person), the duty calculation may vary.
