Attention to those who are sending wood products or products that have partially wooden parts or components to the United States.

Regardless of whether you are sending the item to a company (a legal entity) or an individual (an individual), when your shipment is scanned at the airport, your package may be subject to inspection.

This is the situation that our client encountered. And let us tell you what to do in such cases.

In our case, the shipment was sent to the Amazon warehouse in Joliet by the international delivery service UPS.

It was a wooden item for the kitchen, and when the shipment was scanned it got caught in the scanner and was delayed. Although a similar shipment had been shipped before and there were no problems.

Thanks to the fact that the customer did not wait and contacted us immediately, we were able to quickly resolve the problem.

The fact is that when sending a shipment of wood products is necessary to fill out the Lacey Form, which should specify: the sender, the recipient, the type of wood, the purpose and use of the goods and HS code.

Our specialists prepared this form and sent a scanned copy to the US. The entire process took up to 5 days of delay.

If the customer had delayed and not contacted us in time, the goods could have been returned or destroyed.
