Rules for sending packages and cargo to the Netherlands

• You can send a parcel or cargo from Ukraine to The Netherlands only if the goods are permitted for international carriage and you are able to clear them in The Netherlands.
  If the goods are prohibited or restricted by the laws of one or both countries, you will not be able to ship them. 
• Depending on the contents of the parcel, you may be required to provide proof of origin or a technical description and purpose.
• If you have not specified the goods in the accompanying documents, or have specified the wrong quantity, depending on the content, you may be issued a protocol for violation of customs regulations and confiscate the parcel, both in Ukraine and in The Netherlands.
• If you need customs clearance of a parcel or cargo, which is worth thinking about in advance, you can do it yourself, or by hiring a customs broker who will do all the work quickly, efficiently, and with a guarantee of legality.
• If there is a mistake in the documents, or the value of the parcel is missing, it may be detained at customs until the circumstances are clarified. This problem can be solved by you, the recipient, or a customs broker who represents you or the recipient's interests.

Track parcels and freight DHL, UPS, FedEx and TNT

Once you've booked delivery of parcels or cargo from Ukraine to the Netherlands you need to know the tracking number to track the parcel. 

By going to the site of courier service, which delivers your parcel, you can track its exact location:

If you use the services of an intermediary, when sending parcels and freight from Ukraine, then you can find out why it is not traced to its destination, you can ask the representative of the logistics company.

Documents required to send a parcel from Ukraine to the Netherlands?

The list of documents is individual and is based on the specifics of the goods, the place where you ordered it and your legal status.

• Passport data.
• TIN.
• Accreditation card of the legal person (LLC, PE, etc.).
• Contract, invoice, product specifications, packing list.
• Permit for export of certain samples of goods, if necessary.

To send an international parcel by an individual in Ukraine, the following documents are required:

• Passport, TIN code or other documents confirming the identity of the recipient. For non-Ukrainian citizen only passport.
• Checks or printouts from the site where the cost of purchase is indicated.
• Bill of lading and an invoice for the parcel - this can be obtained at the reception desk of the carrier or electronically by mail.
• Export declaration for legal entities.
• For companies with an invoice of up to 150 Euros customs clearance on application.
  Individuals up to 10 000 Euros clearance at the request, over the customs declaration.

Customs duties are not paid when sending a parcel from Ukraine to the Netherlands. 

The total cost of delivery may include:

• Courier services (FedEx, UPS, TNT, DHL can be calculated on the website of the carrier or agent).
• Customs clearance (for individuals and legal entities different orders of customs clearance).
  Insurance for the parcel.

An example of the calculation of delivery for parcels weighing 10 kg with dimensions of 50*20*20 cm:

Let's calculate the volumetric weight in cm: 50 * 20 * 20 = 20000 / 5000 = 4 kg  

The cost of delivery calculation will be by the actual weight of 10 kg 

You choose the service delivery: express or economy. 

Insurance is usually 1% of the price. 

Packaging is at the expense of the sender.

Article 235. Prohibitions and restrictions on the transfer (sending) of certain types of goods in international postal and express consignments

Movement of the following goods shall be prohibited:

• Goods prohibited by this Code and other legislative acts of Ukraine in accordance with the importation into or exportation from the customs territory of Ukraine.
• Goods sent in violation of customs regulations.
• Goods for which there are no relevant permits in applying non-tariff regulation measures of foreign economic activity.
• Goods that, based on the results of the types of control specified in the first paragraph of Article 319 of this Code, may not be let through the customs border of Ukraine.
• Goods (clothes, shoes, etc.) that have been used and are in a dirty condition, which by their characteristics may pose a danger to postal workers, without documents on the performed fumigation.
• Goods falling under groups 1-24 of the UCG FEA are transported (sent) to citizens, except for food products with a total weight not exceeding 10 kilograms in the manufacturer's package.

Prohibited for transport:

• Live animals (including but not limited to mammals, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, insects, or birds).
• Hunting trophies (animals), animal parts such as ivory and shark fins, animal remains, or animal by-products or derivatives not intended for human consumption that is prohibited for movement by the
• CITES Convention or local law.
• Human remains or ashes in any form.
• Precious metals in bullion.
• Cash (current legal tender as banknotes, bills, coins), traveler's checks, and activated credit cards.
  Precious and semi-precious stones in loose form (whether processed or unprocessed).
• Complete firearms, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices, including inert explosives or test samples, air guns, replicas, or imitations of firearms or ammunition.
• Illicit goods such as illegal drugs, including but not limited to narcotic stimulants, depressants, or hallucinogens. Cannabis or its derivatives.

It is prohibited to import/export items whose transportation is prohibited by law, regulation, or statute of any state or local government of the country to which or through which the shipment may travel.
