Example of duty calculation for parcels over 150 euro:
The notional value of the goods is 151 euros.
The base for taxation is: 151 – 150 = 1 euro.
Duty: (151 – 150) * 10% = 0,10 euro
Value Added Tax (VAT): (1 + 0.1) * 20% = 0.22 euro
Duty and taxes payable on a shipment of 151 €: duty 0.10 € + VAT 0.22 € = 0.32 €
* approximate amount of charges at the rate of the NBU – (11.91 UAH) depends on the exchange rate set by the NBU on the date of the declaration.
How is the weight of the parcel calculated?
Approximate calculation of delivery cost for a 10 kg parcel with dimensions 50*20*20 cm:
Let's calculate volumetric weight in cm: 50*20*20 = 20000/5000 = 4 kg
If the volumetric weight is not more than the actual weight, the cost of delivery calculation will be based on the actual weight of 10 kg.
In addition to weight, the cost of delivery is influenced by:
- The cost of the delivery service.
- Type of delivery: express or standard.
- Availability of insurance, about 1% of the cost of the parcel.
- Package of goods.
- Cost of customs clearance.
- Prices for the work of an intermediary, if you turn to them.
