How to clear a parcel at customs by yourself
( 1 ) When ordering a parcel to Ukraine, you should take into account its cost and check the correctness of the documents. If the value of your order does not exceed 150 euros, and all the supporting documents are filled out correctly, then the parcel, upon arrival in Ukraine, will go straight to you. Since the duty-free limit is not exceeded, then you do not need to go through customs clearance. But this is not always the case, and you must be prepared that you will still have to face the customs authorities.

( 2 ) In order to go through customs clearance, you can use the services of courier delivery services. They offer this service for an additional fee, hire a professional customs broker, or try to clear the parcel yourself. The complexity of this procedure may depend on the type of goods you are importing, the correctness of the completed documents and your understanding of how customs work.
To receive a parcel at customs you need to prepare a number of documents:
- Documents proving your identity.
- TIN - identification number.
- Transport bill of lading, invoice.
- Documents that confirm the value of the parcel (checks, bank statements of payment, etc.).
After receiving notification that the parcel has arrived at the customs warehouse, you must personally come to the office and fill out the M16 declaration for further clearance at customs.

The tax fee will be calculated based on your parcel amount.
- Duty: (price of the parcel - 150) * 10%
- Value Added Tax (VAT): (price of the parcel - 150 + duty) * 20%

Value Added Tax (VAT): (1 + 0.1) * 20% = 0.22 euro
Duty and taxes payable on a shipment of 151 €: duty 0.10 € + VAT 0.22 € = 0.32 €

After you have placed the order, the seller has to fill out the paperwork and deliver your parcel to the courier service.
After that, you get a tracking number of the shipment, by which you can track the location of your parcel at the moment on the site of the delivery service.
If you are not provided with the tracking number, there is a high probability that you have fallen for fraud, and that the parcel has not been sent.
